Swan Cove’s COVID-19 response – updated Nov 2021

We understand the toll the pandemic has taken on everyone from all across the world in these uncertain times. With changing travel restrictions and the possibility of future outbreaks, planning a future holiday is a tricky business!

We would like to offer assurance to all future guests, that when you book with us, you’ll only pay for your stay, if it can proceed. Our flexible booking policy gives you the peace of mind to book now, and pay on arrival, when you know your travel can proceed.

Flexible Booking Policy – Effective from 1st October 2020 (ongoing)

Due to the current uncertainty with travel, a first night’s deposit will no longer be required to confirm your booking. Instead, full payment of your booking will be taken on your day of arrival.

Where you are unable to travel due to forced travel restrictions or sickness related to Coronavirus, bookings will be cancelled without penalty. This is an extra step we are taking to provide you with confidence to book during these uncertain times. If you can still offer us as much notice as possible in this instance, that would be much appreciated.

We understand you may have some questions regarding your stay, so here are some answers to those frequently asked CO-VID 19 questions below.

Can I be close to my family/friends, but distant from others at your Retreat?

Both of our cottages are self contained, this means a contactless arrival and stay should you wish. We live on the property so we are very nearby or just a phone call away if you need assistance whilst you’re here. We clean the accommodation ahead of your stay, not throughout, so you can enjoy your private oasis without interruption.

Our beautiful secluded part of the island is at the far end away from the crowds and is open to the beach and vast waterways. Being undiscovered has it perks and allows you to explore with very little contact with locals or other guests should you prefer.

How clean are the shared facilities?

Swan Cove has a a couple of communal areas including the laundry, Gazebo BBQ area and the kayak and bike storage areas. One family group is permitted to use the spaces at a time. We have installed cleaning equipment to be used before and after use of the equipment.

How clean is the accommodation?

We have completed a CO-VID Safe plan to ensure we have the knowledge, skills and equipment to provide our guests and staff with a safe environment. All accommodation is given a thorough clean by professional cleaning staff in between visits. This includes disinfecting all contact surfaces.  All linen is laundered onsite to commercial standards.

How will you keep track of visitors should an outbreak occur?

We have established protocols to respond to a potential outbreak onsite. A positive case of Coronavirus detected at any of our properties would result in immediate closure, reporting to the government health agency, and deep clean of the property. As part of our CO-VID Safe plan, all guests are required to complete an online health declaration form prior to their arrival at our accommodation. As required by law, we are also maintaining a register of all guests contact details, should this be needed for contact tracing.

Does Swan Cove Waterfront Island Retreat have any official accreditation to be COVIDsafe?

Thanks to some well spent time in ISO we have up-skilled and trained our teams to be a COVID-CLEAN business. We take guest and staff safety very seriously, and are committed to providing you with a clean and safe Retreat to enjoy some down time, away from the crowds, surrounded by nature.
